Abstract

928,633. Hose connections. BENDIX CORPORATION. Dec. 18, 1961 [Dec. 23, 1960], No. 45313/61. Class 99(1). An attachment structure for a hose comprises a plate member 12 having an opening 22 therein which includes radially outwardly extending notches 26, the portions of the plate which border the opening and are spaced in the same angular direction from respective notches forming shelf portions 30 each of which begins at the respective notch thereof and at least one of those portions terminating in an abutment formed by an inwardly-turned portion 32 of the plate, and at least one of the shelf portions further includes a ramp 34 spaced from its abutment and formed by inclining a portion of the shelf inwardly, and a tubular member 10 provided with an external shoulder 16 and fingers 28 spaced from the shoulder and conforming to the notches. The member 10 is inserted into the aperture 22 and rotated to lock the member in a sealing position, a sealing ring 36 of resilient material being disposed between the plate and the shoulder 16. A shoulder 38 may be provided to abut either the radially inner or outer surface of the sealing ring. The aperture 22 may be circular, square or triangular in shape.
