[Also in Group XXIV] A positive clutch for connecting a mine winding drum 2 to a driving shaft 1 comprises a sleeve 12 having external teeth permanently engaging internal teeth of an annulus 8 bolted to the drum and axially slidable by hydraulic means 15 to engage internal teeth of the sleeve with a toothed wheel 6 fast with the driving shaft. In the disengaged position of the clutch sleeve its external teeth engage toothed segments (not shown) secured to a stationary housing 16 to hold the drum 2 stationary,
