A hand saw for cutting timber, particularly floor boards in situ has a single-piece handle with a conventional grip 14 and an additional knob 16 and a blade 10 having teeth which cut on the upward stroke is adjustably secured in a slot in the handle so that the blade projection can be set at approximately the thickness of the board to be cut. Bolts with wing nuts and slots 12 in the handle or blade or in both, provide the blade adjustment.
