Abstract

1,070,827. Mitering. G. O. PATRIDGE. April 26, 1966 [April 28, 1965], No. 17932/65. Heading B5L. A mitre-board comprises a saw guide 3 having one or more magnets 7 which facilitate location of a saw relative to the guide. The saw guide is mounted on a base board 1 and is formed with an aperture 4 through which a stop member 2 disposed at 45 degrees to the guide extends, the member serving to position a workpiece with its end to be cut extending through the aperture. A pair of magnets 7 are located in the outer face 6 of the guide to steady the saw blade during cutting of the workpiece. The saw guide may be cut away at one end so that the handle of the saw will not engage the guide during sawing operations.
