Abstract

1,274,335. Saw guard. MULTICO CO. Ltd. 19 April, 1971 [12 March, 1970], No. 11798/70. Heading F2J. A guard 10, of fibreglass which may be reinforced by wire or threads for a circular saw blade 1 is mounted on a swing knife 6 in turn adjustably mounted by bolts passing through holes and slots 7, 8 on a carriage 2 which rises and falls with respect to the work-table 4. The guard 10 has arms 17, 18 at its forward end which embrace the swing knife 6 to which it is secured by a pin-and-slot device 11, 12 which permits bothrelative rotational and translational motion. An arm 23 extends from the swing knife 6 to engage the guard 10 at the point 16 to limit the relative motion so that even when the lower rear corner 24 of the guard is lowered into contact with the table 4 the guard 10 cannot touch the saw blade 1.
