1370243 Saw tables ALFRED GRASS KG METALLWARENFABRIK 27 Nov 1972 [25 Nov 1971] 54626/72 Heading B5L Apparatus for preventing the underside of a coated board 4 from breaking away at the edges of a saw cut made in the board comprises a circular saw blade 1 mounted on a saw bench 3. The bench is provided with a pivoted plate 7 which has a slot of substantially the same width as the saw blade to receive the cutting edge portion of the blade, and the plate is urged upwardly adjacent the slot against the cutting action of the blade by a spring or a pneumatically or hydraulically actuated piston. As described the plate is a see-saw 6 pivoted on an axle 9 and urged in the direction of arrow 11 by a spring 10. The plate may be of plastic or metal and the slot is cut therein by the saw blade.
