827,698. Sawing. VAGIM, C. J., MOSESIAN, E. C., and CAFFEJIAN, N. J., [trading as CENATRON INDUSTRIES.]. March 28, 1958, No. 10018/58. Class 145. A portable power-driven tool is adapted for use either as a circular or chain saw and comprises a cutter bar 90 adjustable on a mounting block 70 which can be fitted to the tool by means of bolts 78 after removal of the circular saw-blade 65 and provides an outer bearing for a shaft 55 geared to the motor shaft. The sprocket 110 for driving the saw chain 120 is keyed to the shaft 55 and the shaft 55 may be the same as that used for the circular saw. A slot 95 in the cutter bar 90 fits over studs 87 extending from a boss 86 on the mounting block 71 and an adjustment plate 100 has a rotatable screwed rod 103 and a peg 104 threaded on the rod and extending into the cutter bar to allow adjustment of the bar relative to the block to adjust the saw tension. Saw guards 13 and 66 are provided and a toothed gripper 125 for biting into the timber to steady the saw and provide a lever action is secured to the front end of the mounting block.
