Abstract
926,794. Mounting terminals. MASON ELECTRIC CORPORATION. July 28, 1961 [April 10, 1961], No. 27418/61. Class 38 (1). A sealed terminal structure comprises a laminated insulating base carrying a terminal, the interface between the terminal and base being non-linear and a portion of the terminal disposed therein being of non-circular crosssection. Fig. 2 shows a lowermost lamina 34 used as a lower support for a terminal 14 and having a rectangular cutout portion 44 complementary to and receiving therein end 30 of the terminal. Other laminµ 36, 38, 40, 42 of the base have different sized holes 46, 48, 50 and 52 receiving a square portion 28 and a cylindrical portion of the terminal. The base includes a main supporting lamina 20 which forms part of a housing 22. An insulating bushing 56 with a reduced diameter end portion fitting tightly in a hole in the lamina 20 surrounds the cylindrical part of the terminal and is retained by a nut 26 and washers 58, 60. Prior to assembly the laminµ are coated on both sides with curable cement which bonds the assembly hermetically when cured. As shown, the base carries additional terminals 16 similar to terminals 14 and soldering terminals 18 of rectangular crosssection with square enlargements 66.
