925,945. Adjustable shaft couplings. P. F. JONES. Dec. 18, 1961 [Oct. 22, 1960], No. 36306/60. Class 80 (2). A resilient circumferentially adjustable shaft coupling between an exhauster unit of a vehicle braking system and a fuel injection pump comprises cylindrical oil resistant rubber plugs 10 housed in complementary part-cylindrical axial recesses in the faces of four interengaging claws 7 on driving and driven members 5, 6, the recesses extending as holes 9 through the outer face of the member 6 permitting axial assembly of the rubbers, the members 5, 6 being attached by screws and studs to the exhauster unit and fuel pump flanges 12, 18, respectively, and the studs of the driven member 6 engaging slotted holes in the flange 18 to permit circumferential timing adjustment. Graduations and an index mark are provided on the members 6, 18, and the rubbers 10 may be cut to length from standard cord stock, and may engage tightly in their housings, so as to locate the driving and driven members 5, 6, against relative axial movement.
