The slewing ring 11 of a jib-crane is supported on a conventional base structure 3, 7, by bifurcated legs or columns 14 arranged in a triangulated design to improve rigidity. Eight tubular legs may be provided having adjacent ends welded to common upper and lower plates 15, 16 respectively. Alternatively, each single leg may be replaced by a group of tubes forming a column. The tubes in a column may be tied together at top and bottom only or at intermediate points as well. Roller carriages 10 may be provided.
