[Also in Group XXX] An apparatus for manoeuvering a flexible pipe 1 comprises a device 3, 4 or 5 leaving a pair of spaced clamps 6, 7 inter-connected by a pair of load-transmitting arms 8 which are articulated to one another, e.g. by pivot pins 9, between the clamps. The pipe 1, which may be used for discharging oil from a tanker, is connected between a stand post 2 at the quayside and a draw-off connection on the tanker. The devices 3, 5 are provided with terminal swivel connections 10. The clamps 6, 7 of adjacent devices may be connected by loadtransmitting lattice structures 13. The arm 8 of the device 3 is extended by an arm 11 having a counter-weight 12 for counterbalancing the weight of the pipe.
