[Also in Groups XXVIII and XXIX] A device for delivering liquids comprises a first pipe 8 communicating with a supply pipe 5 through a hollow hinge 7 and with a second pipe 10, which has a coupling 6, through another hollow hinge 9 so that the pipes 8 and 10 are movable in vertical planes, a weight 16 extending rearward from the pipe 8 near to the hinge 7 and an arm secured to the pipe 10 near to the hinge 9 connected by a link 13 to a counterweighted arm 15 rotatable about the hinge 7. The pipe 5 is rotatable about its axis but can be clamped if desired. Two arms 8 are provided connecting with chambers 21 in counterweights 16 at either side of the hinge 7 which is formed on two hollow pairs 17 perforated at 23 and 24 and held in the forked end 20 of the supply pipe 5 by a drawbolt 18 as in Fig. 2. The upper end of the arms 8 enter axially the sides of the hinge 9 from which the arm 10 extends radially (Fig. 3, not shown). The device may be raised or lowered manually or by hydraulic cylinders 35 and 46 mounted on the pipe 5 with rams 38 and 49 which are pivoted respectively to a lever 41 first to a spindle 42 carrying a pair of toothed segments 43 and to a lever 52 attached to a bushing 25 fixed to the arm 15. The segments 43 mesh with toothed segments 45 mounted inside the counterweights 16. The cylinders 35 and 46 may be interconnected to permit movement of the arms after they have brought the device into position for coupling the arm 10. A pawl mechanism may be provided between pipes 5 and 10 to restrain the device in high winds (not shown).
