Abstract

923,438. Valves. F. H. BOURNER & CO. (ENGINEERS) Ltd., and F. H. BOURNER. Aug. 21, 1961 [Sept. 1, 1960], No. 30213/60. Class 135. A liquid tap comprises a supply pipe 10 having a threaded portion 11 and an extension 12 on which a valve seat 31 is formed, a nozzle 15 being screwed on to the pipe and having a shoulder 18 either slotted or fitted with a slotted element 24, 25, on which a valve member 22, 26 is mounted for engagement with the seat upon rotation of the nozzle, the extension 12 engaging a corresponding surface in the bore 17 of the nozzle and a groove being provided in one of the surfaces for accommodating a sealing ring 14. The valve head 22, 23 is formed with a spindle 21 on which the slotted sleeve 24 is secured, by means of projections on the sleeve engaging in a groove 30 formed in the spindle. A second closure member 35 is provided in order to prevent flow through the valve when the valve member 22, 23 is being replaced.
