A coal breaker for co-operation with a conveyer device comprises a vertically movable rocker 1 carrying a driven breaker roller 6, the rocker being mounted on side parts 4 of a substructure 5, the rear end of the rocker being connected to the sub-structure through a pivot joint 2 and brackets 3, and the front end of the rocker being connected to the sub-structure through compression cylinders 7, a breaker plate 9 secured between the side parts 4 being shaped as a conveyer channel and being replaceable either individually or together with the substructure. The conveyer device is in the form of a plate or trough conveyer 8. The plate 9 has the ends of its base preferably tapered off at 9<SP>1</SP> and has side flanges 10<SP>1</SP> supported on and secured to the side parts 4. Feed walls 11, which extend beyond the leading edge of the conveyer, may be secured to the plate 9 or to the side parts 4. The parts 4 may be coupled together by ties 12. In a modification, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), the conveyer device is in the form of a belt conveyer. In another modification, Fig. 5 (not shown), the coal breaker is arranged at the upper end of a spiral shoot. In a further modification, Fig. 6 (not shown), the coal breaker is arranged as a transfer shoot between two belt conveyers.
