In a coal breaker as set forth in the parent Specification the vertically movable rocker comprises a pivotally-supported rear housing portion 3 to the forward end face of which is detachably secured a front housing portion 3a in which the breaker roller 4 is rotatably mounted, the roller 4 being driven by means of a motor 6 and transmission gearing 5 located on the housing portion 3a. The housing portion 3 is supported by brackets 2a, 2b which are removably secured to longitudinally-extending lateral base members formed by skids 1a, 1b removably secured to a crushing trough 1. A weight box 13 is accommodated partly in each housing portion, the side walls and bottom of the box interconnecting and stiffening the side walls of the housing portions. Exchangeable and/or height adjustable spacers 14 are secured to the side walls of the housing portion 3a so as to abut the skids 1a, lb when the rocker is in its desired lowest position.
