Abstract
922,264. Ear protectors. W. F. C. DEVLIN. Oct. 17, 1961 [Oct. 17, 1960], No. 37144/61. Class 81 (2). An ear protector, for excluding sounds from the ears, comprises an adjustable head band carrying resilient cushioning members designed to press on the tragus of each ear and cause it to close the auditory canal. The head band is preferably made from two resilient strips 10, 11 each carrying a loop or sleeve 12, 13 at one end so that the overall length of the headband can be adjusted by sliding the two strips relative to each other. The cushioning members C, D may have convex or concave end faces and serve to press the tragus against opening of the auditory canal to prevent the entry of sounds.
