733,542. Ear protectors. HULTGREN, G. V. I. Oct. 16, 1953, No. 28623/53. Class 81 (2). An ear plug to be inserted in the external auditory canal consists of a body 2 of soft elastic spongy material in which the walls between the pores are perforate spongy material being surrounded by a skin which is removed from the two ends of the body only. The body 2 is made by casting so that an external skin is formed which is removed from the ends only. A stem 1 of hard or rubber-like synthetic resin is provided. The plug is made of a softened copolymers consisting substantially of vinyl chloride or of polyvinyl chloride, but may consist of polyisobutylene or polyvinyl butyral, the material chosen being dependent on the conditions under which the plug is to be used.
