Abstract

1,002,018. Ear frame for plastic surgery. DOW CORNING CORPORATION. March 9, 1964 [April 25, 1963], No. 9881/64. Heading A5R. An ear frame for grafting on to the the head in place of a natural ear and promoting natural growth of tissue in the form of a natural external ear, is made of silicone rubber and has openings 3, 4 in the areas corresponding to the fossae of the helix and antihelix, the concha and the external auditory meatus, the openings being closed by thin webs of silicone rubber. The webs may be removed as desired so that, when the frame is grafted to the head, tissue grows through the openings formed.
