Abstract

The hearing aid (1) has a tritium battery which acts as the power supply. The battery is built into it and the hearing aid is emplanted in or near the damaged ear. Its microphone is located in the auditory passage of the ear. The output signal of the microphone is such that it can be used to 'drive' the auditory nerves of the ear directly. The hearing aid may have a sheath that can be expanded by filling with air or water.
