Abstract

1,144,294. Headsets. S. G. BROWN Ltd., and T. D. IBBOTSON. 9 Nov., 1967 [24 April, 1967], No. 18811/67. Heading H4J. A hat band 12, for a protective helmet, carries a microphone 20 and one or more receivers 15 which are acoustically coupled via respective, flexible tubes 21 and 16, 18 to the vicinity of the mouth and ear(s) of the wearer. The band may be of resilient material e.g. rubber or may be adjustable as by a strap and buckle. The tubes are such that they remain in the shape into which they are bent and the tubes to the ears are preferably terminated in rubber caps 17, 19. The housings 13, 14 for the transducers are provided with lips (26) which engage the underside of the brim of the helmet (Fig. 2, not shown).
