Abstract

1,023,200. Helmets. AIR REDUCTION CO. Inc. Feb. 8, 1965 [May 20, 1964], No. 5339/65. Heading A3V. A headband for headgear comprises a stiffening band 4, a sweat band 5 attached thereto, the ends of the stiffening band and the ends of the sweatband overlapping when the headband is positioned to encircle the head of the wearer, and flexible means encircling the ends of the stiffening band and the sweatband and attached at each end thereof to adjacent areas of or at a common point on the stiffening band. Both ends of the flexible strip 8 may be attached to a stud 11 on the stiffening band end 2 or one end may be attached to the stiffening band end and the other end attached to the stud. The stiffening band 4, flexible strip 8 and stud 11 may be integrally moulded from plastics material. The headband is adjustable for size by moving the ends relatively to each other.
