Abstract

1378832 Helmets M L AVIATION CO Ltd 14 May 1973 [25 May 1972] 24734/72 Heading A3V [Also in Division H4] A flying helmet 2 is fitted with ear-pads carrying earphones 4, 6, each pad being suspended in the helmet by three tapes 8, 10, 12 extending radially therefrom, the tapes 8, 10 being attached to the inside of the helmet at points 14, 16 and the tape 12 passing through a loop 18 on the helmet and back between the ear-pad and helmet to extend through a slit 20 whereafter it is attached to a toggle fastener 22 outside the helmet whereby the tape 12 and thus the tapes 8, 10 may be tensioned to support the ear pad secured after the helmet has been donned. The fastener 22 is attached to the helmet by a bolt 23 located in a slot in the helmet to permit sliding adjustment of the fastener 22.
