Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a device for protecting the ears against noise. More particularly, the device of the invention is intended to protect the internal auditory system against the harmful effects of intense noise. The devices currently available to protect the ears against nuisances are divided into two groups, a first grouping the existing ear shields into different materials and at least partially covering the ear - belong to this group, the earmuffs whose two earpieces are interconnected by a headband - and a second group consisting of the ear plugs closing the auditory canal into it belong to this group the balls "Quies".
The disadvantage of the devices of the first group lies in their size, or at least their unsightly wearing, especially when they are worn outside a professional context for example. They are bulky and heavy. The devices of the second group are almost invisible, but they are not always well supported. In conditions of irritation of the ear canal or presence of wax plug, these plugs are to be avoided. In addition, they escape easily from the duct during movements. According to the present invention, a device has been discovered which provides a solution to the problems encountered with the devices known above. It is discreet and at the same time easily tolerated by the wearer, despite effective fixation on the ear.
Thus the invention consists of a headband type ear protection device, the ends of which are provided with a buffer. Each branch of the headband is brought closer together without stress and spreads under stress, which allows each pad to apply a force on the tragus and thus closing the external auditory canal. The device is intended to be placed in the same way as a headband on the skull, its two branches descending respectively on the temples, right and left, to their ends provided with a stamp on the tragus . Thus this device is ergonomic, taking its place on the skull and on the ears. According to a variant of the device of the invention, the headband may have a modulable size with the auricular portion of its branches which will be extended by a tab. The leg will therefore bear the buffer, not the headband; the ear portion will have a slot to adjust the length of the tab on the headband with which it will be maintained by a screw or other means responding to this effect. Similarly the slot can be replaced by a rack or any other application that meets this need. In addition the temporal part of each branch will have two edges to maintain the ear paw in the same axis as the headband. Thus, the size of the headband will be adjustable according to the size of the user by lengthening or shortening the length of the ear paw. According to another variant of the device of the invention, different sizes of headband will be produced as standard: small, medium or large, for quick and efficient use.
According to another variant of the device of the invention, the pressure on the tragus will be adjustable by modulating the stiffness of the branches by means of a rollbar fixed at the apex of the headband (parietal portion of the branch) and on the temporal part of the branch, on this arch will be made a slot (in the same way as the technical mode of the ear paw) into which will be introduced a screw (or any other means corresponding to this use), the movement towards the ends of the screw or other, will cause an accentuation of the force of the stamp on the tragus and vice versa. The comfort and closure of the ear canal will be optimized. According to another variant of the device of the invention, the rigidity of the headband will be standardized according to forces: low, medium or high, depending on the desired use. The device consists of one or more materials: plastic, resin or metal; the parts of the device pressing the ear, are advantageously wrapped in a flexible material constituting a pad, non-allergenic and comfortable: it may be a plastic, a silicone, a foam, for example. The pads may be glued or fixed by any other appropriate mode for their maintenance on the branches, especially when placing the device on the ears.
The device according to the invention can be provided in a disposable version. Advantageously, it will be light and packaged in sterile packaging. The invention will be better understood with the aid of the description which follows, with reference to the appended drawing, representing by way of example, two embodiments of this device, a drawing according to which: FIGURE 1 represents a front view of the device according to a variant. FIGURE 2 represents a front view according to the device another variant. FIG. 1 represents a device 1 of protection of the ears without constraint, generally of one-piece form, consisting of a headband (2) whose two limbs (3) end in torsion (9) by a buffer (4). ) provided with a pad (5).
According to this variant, the device is placed on the head whose two branches are pressing the tragus in the direction of stress indicated in the figure by placing each buffer in view of each tragus closing the external auditory canal. Figure 2 shows a device 2 for protecting the ears in a position without constraint. It comprises, according to this variant: an ear lug (6) at each end of branch (3) fixed by a screw (9), whose position can be changed to enlarge the headband (2), and two arches of force (7) fixed by a fastener (10) each on the upper part of the headband (2), provided with a slot (8) for moving a screw (9) modulating the rigidity of the branch concerned.
25 The pressure can be modulated by a slider instead of the screw (9), moving along a rack, instead of the slot (8), on the rollbars (7). In addition, the temporal part of each branch can be short: small headband, or enlarged: large headband. Finally, the device is produced with a choice of colors, stamps (4), with more or less fancy. 25
