A one-piece socket of deformable mouldable material comprises a shank with a central longitudinal hole, the shank being formed by two or more portions which are C-shaped in crosssection, convex outwards, and are connected by longitudinal joining portions of which the parts of the inner surfaces at or near one end of the shank are closer to the axis of the shank than are the inner surfaces of the C-shaped portions or of the remainder of the joining portions. In the arrangement according to Figs. 1 and 3, a socket 20 of resilient plastics material for insertion into an apertured support 24 presents in transverse cross-section a pair generally C- shaped sections joined together by opposite side sections which resiliently grip a stud 32 forming part of a support rod for a sun-visor. Ribs which are integral with the side sections co-operate with a groove 60 on the stud 32, and shoulders 56, 58 snap through the aperture in the support to retain the socket thereon. In another arrangement, Figs. 5-8 (not shown), the C-shaped sections are widely spaced and the stud, which is ball ended, may be inserted other than on the central longitudinal axis of the socket. In a modification of this arrangement, Fig. 11 (not shown), the shoulders are provided at the " top " and " bottoms " of the C-sections. In the arrangement according to Fig. 12, the socket comprises three generally C- shaped sections 40d, 42d and 72 and three side sections 44d, 46d and 74 which form ribs 48d, 50d and 76. The C-shaped sections are shaped to provide retaining shoulders 56d, 58d and 78.
