921,707. Mine props. GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA. June 8, 1959, No. 19577/59. Class 20 (2). A mine roof supporting-bar comprises a topplate 13, side plates 18, 19 and bottom plates 20, 21 welded to a central cup 14 having a ball- and-socket engagement with the top of a prop 11. The cup 14 is tapered in conical form at 16 to clear the prop when the bar tilts. The bar also contains strengthening transverse plates. A bar 29 for connecting the roof bar to another roof bar or for forepoling fits in a socket 28 at the end of the bar and is secured by a screw at 31.
