Abstract
921,621. Preventing incrustation. BRITISH PETROLEUM CO. Ltd. Feb. 22, 1960, No. 6124/60. Addition to 815,590. Class 51 (1). [Also in Group XXVI] Carbon black, of particle size between 0.5 and 5 microns, is entrained in an air stream supplied to the combustion chamber of a gas turbine engine operating on a mineral oil residual fuel. 0.5-5% carbon by weight of the fuel is used, and the operation is such that some at least of the carbon remains in elemental form in the combustion gases. The carbon may be made from oil. Specification 779,248 also is referred to.
