Abstract
921,389. Clamp for shuttering for casting concrete. RAPID METAL DEVELOPMENTS Ltd. May 25, 1961 [Feb. 25, 1960], No. 6634/60. Class 20 (2). A clamp for shuttering panels comprises a U-shaped member 10 the limbs 11 of which terminate in flared notches 12 engaging the edges of two mating flanges 31 of shuttering panels and a U-shaped member 17 with hooks 20 or a single hook 35, Fig. 7, engaging registering slots 30 in the flanges. The member 16 has a tapped hole engaged by a screw 21 passing through a hole in the web of the member 10 and bearing on the outer face of this web by a pivoted cam 23 adapted to give a quick take-up of clearance, the clamp being finally tightened by the screw 21. A lateral curved extension 14 of the member 10 is adapted to clamp a waling 33 against the flanges 31. The hook 35, Fig. 7, has a tapped extension 36 engaging in a nut 37 bearing on the outer face of the web of the member 10.
