Abstract

920,544. Mattress assembling machines. SLUMBERLAND GROUP Ltd. Sept. 21, 1961 [Oct. 12, 1960], No. 34905/60. Class 52 (4). [Also in Group XXX] Springs from a spring-making machine fall into magazines 10, 11 to form stacks therein. From each magazine the lowermost spring passes between guides 13, 14 and is engaged in notch 15 of oscillating disc 16. The notch engages an intermediate portion of the spring and feeds it into jaw 22 of arm 24. Arm 24 is moved bodily downwards to drag the spring with it and then pivots at 25 to deliver the spring to a mattress making machine. A batch of magazines may be employed to feed a row of springs to the machine and the batch of magazines may be stepped as a whole to correspond to the spacing between adjacent rows.
