Abstract
920,431. Pencil-lead dispensers. L. & C HARDTMUTH Inc. Oct. 10, 1960 [Oct. 28, 1959], No. 34628/60. Class 18. [Also in Group XV]. A box for storing and dispensing pencil leads 34, Fig. 3, comprises a sliding ejector member 21 which engages behind the end of the lowest lead to move it through an aperture 18, the ejector 21 being withdrawable on its return stroke into a pocket 20 which is closed by a spring-loaded gate 23 to prevent the end of the lowest lead being pushed thereinto. The stack of leads 34 is urged downwardly by a spring- loaded bar 31 and the box lid has recesses 39 which are a snap fit beneath undercut projections 36 on the walls which are made resilient by notches 40. The lid is also positively held in position by a two-headed stud 43, Fig. 10, which slides in a slot 40 in the lid and base. A projection 33 on the bar 31 projects through a slot 27 in the base to permit the bar to be moved manually against the spring 30 for filling.
