[Classes 66 and 125 (iii)] [Also in Group XVIII] A measured quantity of liquid or fine powder is obtained by deforming a wall, panel or part of the container against a stop inside the container, the wall &c. being returned to its initial position after delivery by a spring or its own elasticity. Fig. 1 shows a liquid container having one wall 2 stiffened by ribs 5 and the opposite wall 4, or a portion thereof sufficiently weak to allow it to be pressed manually against a strut 3 carried by the wall 2. To prevent escape of the liquid under its own head when the container is inverted the outlet 7 is fitted with a removable plug 23, Fig. 8, formed with a small orifice'22. The plug may be held in position frictionally or by being screwed in the outlet 7. If the container is not required to be refilled the orifice may be formed in a tin or other membrane secured in the outlet. Fig. 3 shows a container having -two flexible sides engaged by the ends 11a, 12a of a V-spring 10a. The outward movement of the limbs 14, 16 of the V-spring is limited by a tongue 13 on one engaging a slot 15 in the other and ,the inward movement of the sides of the container is limited by the abutment of the limbs. Fig. 6 shows a container the walls 19, 20 of which may be bent inwards till they engage an. inclined metal strip 17 and are then restored to their initial position by a spring 21. The spring 21 is secured to the strip by tongues 22 which limit its outward movement.
