Abstract

773,504. Lipstick &c. holders. NILSSON, R. R. E. Aug. 13, 1954 [April 7, 1954], No. 10166/54. Class 18. A lipstick &c. holder having a lipstick support traversed longitudinally by a pin extending through a slot in the holder wall has ejecting means moveable relative to the support to push out of it the stub of a used lipstick. In one embodiment, the support 3 is moved directly by a pin 7 in a longitudinal slot 8 and an ejecting member 10 is forced upwards through the support if the latter is moved to its lowermost point of travel. In another form, Fig. 7 (not shown), a projection integral with the base of the holder projects through the support when the latter is in its lowermost position to eject the stick. In a screw feed lipstick, the pin 29 is secured to an ejecting member 31 which, in the uppermost position of the support 3a, may be raised by the feed mechanism to pass through the support and eject the lipstick. In a further screw feed holder, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown) the ejecting member is pressed against the bottom of the holder and the support forced over it to its lowermost position to eject the lipstick. In all embodiments means may be provided for indicating when movement of the support or ejecting device is causing ejection of the lipstick. This may take the form of a projection, such as 13, Fig. 2, in a holder slot engaging the pin so that additional force is necessary for the pin to pass the projection.
