Abstract

296,618. Cata, R. Marpons-. Jan. 16, 1928. Pencil holders; pencils; point-protectors.-A pencil of the kind having a lead B, Fig. 1, adjustable in a central channel and adapted to be moved by a wire pusher or like element b, Fig. 2, is provided with an elastic plug or the like F which lies in the channel behind the lead and is movable by the pusher but frictionally engages the wall of the channel for preventing backward movement of 'the lead. The lead is preferably of oval or prismatic croos-section to prevent rotation, and, in addition, a pin H may be inserted in a forwardly-inclined position into the casing to engage the lead. The pin b for projecting the lead is carried by a tubular member a, and may be formed of a number of telescoping sections. The member a may serve as a pointprotector, the pin b being slightly displaced from the centre.
