Abstract

796,836. Powder distributers. WADDING- TON, L. Sept. 5, 1956 [May 31, 1956], No. 16806/56. Class 18. A container for snuff and the like is provided with an aperture 12 in the base and an integral recess 13 closed along three sides is formed in the base, as well as a bridge 21 separated from the open end of the recess 13 by a tongue 18 lying in the same plane as the base. A plate 16, provided with two projections 19 and 20, slides between the bridge 21 and the tongue 18 and within the recess 13, its movement to close the aperture 12 being limited by engagement of the projection 20 with one edge of the tongue 18, while its opening movement is limited by abutment of the end 17 with the wall 14 of the recess 13. To dispense snuff, the user engages a thumb or finger nail in the projection 19 and retracts the plate 16 until the aperture 12 is uncovered.
