Abstract

920,325. Building blocks; building walls. H. J. MONTAGUE. April 16, 1959 [Jan. 16, 1958], No. 1551/58. Classes 20 (2), 20 (4) and 87 (1). In the erection of a wall from blocks 12 each provided with a central hole 15 and corresponding end recesses 16 and smaller aligning holes 17, rods are inserted in the holes 17 and successive courses of blocks are threaded thereon, concrete is cast in the holes 15 and recesses 16 and the rods then withdrawn. The block has a longitudinal recess in its upper face which also receives concrete. Vertical and horizontal reinforcing rods may be provided in the concrete. Half-blocks without a central hole, corner blocks and end blocks with a plain or rebated end are also described.
