896,221. Building blocks; walls. GORSKI, K. June 20, 1960 [Sept. 30, 1959], No. 33101/59. Classes 20(4) and 87(1) A building block of structural concrete, with or without an inner layer A of foamed slag aggregate, is provided with vertical channels C, four horizontal grooves D, and at each end of the block with a large central recess F and one or two sealing grooves K. One face of the block may be finished with a plaster slab H. In building a wall using the blocks, rubber, plastic, wood, or metal bars G are placed in the grooves D while two blocks are fitted together and then the bars are withdrawn so as to leave in the channels C and grooves D a continuous air space which in a humid climate may be made open to the atmosphere. A lightweight mortar is used to bind the blocks and the lower part of the wall may be made from blocks of increased width.
