920,291. Bearing linings. BRITISH BELTING & ASBESTOS Ltd. March 1, 1961 [April 6, 1960], No. 12169/60. Class 12 (1). A bearing bush is formed between a shaft or spindle 1 and outer shells 2 by applying to the spindle surface 4 a layer of a fluorocarbon such as P.T.F.E. fibre or impregnated fabric and filling the remaining space with a suitable resinous or synthetic plastics material backing 3. The whole is then cured with or without heat and pressure to form an integral component. Axial location of the bearing is provided by modulations on the spindle surface or as in a further embodiment by means of a shoulder situated, on the shaft, at each end of the bush. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 840,686, 862,418 and 865,395.
