Abstract
1321983 Laminates ALBRIGHT & WILSON Ltd 10 Aug 1970 [8 Aug 1969] 39920/69 Heading B5N [Also in Division F2] A bearing or gear-wheel consists of a support comprising resin bonded films of asbestos, glass and/or organic polymer, and a bearing surface layer of resin bonded carbon fibres. The support and surface layer may either be made separately and then joined together or may be integral, a mass of support fibres, and a mass of carbon fibres being impregnated with a thermosetting resin and moulded under heat and pressure. The resin is preferably a phenolic resin and the support fibres may be of polyamide, cotton, flax, regenerated cellulose, polyester, wool, silk, regenerated protein or P.T.F.E.
