Classes 78 (3), 78 (4) and 78 (5). In a guided bucket hoist for feeding material to the drum 2 of a concrete mixer, the bucket 5 is pivoted at 8 to a wheeled carriage 4 which is moved along guides 3 by a winch. When the bucket is in its lower position, a plate 9 on the carriage closes the discharge opening 10 of the bucket but, when guide rollers 6 move on to the horizontal portions of the guides, the plate is tilted relative to the bucket which is retained horizontal by the engagement of rollers 11 with stationary cam tracks formed on a discharge shoot 12. Winch end stop gear.-The winch motor is started by a manually operable switch 21 and is stopped automatically at the ends of travel of the bucket. At the upper position the carriage engages a crank 20 which operates the switch, whilst at the lower position, a spring strut 19, to which the hoisting cable is anchored, contracts, due to the cable running slack, and operates the switch through a lever 23.
