Abstract
841,417. Winches; guided skip hoists. WIBAU WESTDEUTSCHE INDUSTRIEUND STRASSENBAU - MASCHINEN G.m.b.H. May 20, 1958 [May 20, 1957], No. 16229/58. Classes 78 (3) and 78 (5). In a guided skip hoist, a motor, which rotates continuously in one direction, effects low-speed raising and high-speed lowering of the skip. As shown, a guided skip 6, for transferring material from a batch mixer 1 to a hopper 4 or to a transport vehicle is driven by a winch, Fig. 2 (not shown), through gearing controlled by a clutch, which, when the skip closes a limit switch 20, disconnects the drive to the winch. After a time delay sufficient to ensure complete discharge of the contents of the mixer 1 into the skip 6 following closure of contacts 21 by opening the discharge gate 2, the clutch causes the winch to effect slow-speed raising of the skip. When the skip operates upper limit switch 22 the clutch is disengaged and after predetermined time, the clutch causes the winch to effect high-speed lowering of the skip. At its upper limit of travel, the skip tips into a discharge position from which a free running descent under gravity is not possible.
