Abstract

982,391. Centrifugal strainer separators. K. JANSEN, L. STEIMEL, R. STEIMEL, M. STEIMEL, A. PETH (nÚe STEIMEL), and H. STEIMEL, [trading as GEBR. STEIMEL]. March 5, 1963 [March 7, 1962], No. 8686/63. Heading B1D. Four flaps 81 to 84 rest on stops 89, Fig. 1, when fluid is released from cylinder 91, the centrifugal drum 9, 12 being at rest. The flaps constitute a feeding funnel. When flap 80 is raised by admission of fluid to cylinder 91, it lifts the remaining flaps eventually to closed position. Preferably a switch 93, Fig. 2, in the circuit of the driving motor 3, Fig. 1, is actuated when the flaps are closed by a tongue 94 fixed to flap 80. Solids are discharged from the drum by raising the wall 12 hydraulically (see parts 13, 14, 40 to 43, Fig. 1) away from base 9 at the Conclusion of a cycle of operation.
