917,266. Measuring hoppers. PREPARATION INDUSTRIELLE DES COMBUSTIBLES. Nov. 25, 1959 [Dec. 11, 1958], No. 40062/59. Classes 78 (1) and 78 (4). The flow of coal from a measuring hopper 2 to the skip of a skip hoist is controlled by door 1, which door is pivoted at 3 to the hopper and is operated by hydraulic cylinder (or solenoid) 7 through bell-crank 5 and rod 4. In the door closing operation, rod 4 passes through a deadcentre position till bell-crank 5 comes to rest against stop 10. Door 1 serves to bridge the gap between the hopper and the skip.
