Abstract

Relates to a stator electrode unit for an adjustable rotary capacitor of the type including a solid integral electrode 1 manufactured by forming a series of parallel slots transversely across a solid metal bar of suitable cross-section (Fig. 2), to provide a series of parallel electrode plates 2 integral with one another and joined to one another over at least a part of their edges, for example by ribs 3 and 4. According to the invention anchoring studs 7 are provided which extend from one end of the electrode in a direction generally perpendicular to the planes of the plates, and the plate 2(a), at one end of the stator electrode, is of greater thickness than the remaining plates. The studs may be rigidly attached to the electrode unit end-plate, for example by soldering, as shown in Fig. 1, where wire 7 is soldered to plate 2(a) at position 6; or they may be formed integrally with the electrode (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown). The studs are for the purpose of securing the electrode to an insulating base, while the thicker end-plate gives the structure added rigidity.
