[Also in Group XIII] An outlet pipe from a washing and/or spindrying machine includes a lower flexible portion 22 connected to an emptying pump, a middle rigid vertical portion 29 extending through a guide 30, and an upper horizontal portion 31, the upper and middle portions being raisable, and turnable about a vertical axis. The upper portion 31 has a downwardlydirected outlet 35 and lies in a trough 32 in its retracted position. When the portion 31 is raised a twist in the flexible portion 22 biases the portion 31 to the laterally-extending position shown in chain lines.
