915,146. Valves. KOOPERATIVA FORBUNDET EKONOMISK FORENING. June 8, 1961 [June 8, 1960], No. 20833/61. Class 135. [Also in Group XVII] An apparatus for filling containers with viscous or solid containing liquids (e.g. marmalade) has an axially slidable valve 7 which has a cutting edge adapted to mate with an aperture 3, said cutting edge cutting-off residue liquid, which may contain solid particles, when the valve is closed. In a modification, Fig. 3, suction is applied to the upper end of the hollow valve 7, on closing it, to prevent any drops 8 from falling from the valve, and the aperture is fitted with a seating ring 9 of a low friction material such as p.t.f.e.
