Abstract
914,810. Tubular heat-exchangers. HUET, A. April 24, 1959 [May 16, 1958], No. 14162/59. Class 64 (3). A heat-exchanger comprises a plurality of tubes having longitudinal grooves b and fluiddeflecting means c, e or g of undulating form disposed between the tubes. As shown in Fig. 2, the fluid deflecting means are sheaths c having undulations d and disposed around each tube. In the modification of Figs. 3 and 4, the deflecting means is a hollow core e closed at both ends and disposed in the spaces between the tubes taken in sets of four as in Fig. 3. Fig. 5 shows deflecting means g of undulating form and curved to be arranged concentrically with the tubes which are in in-line formation. The tubes may also have transverse grooves and the longitudinal grooves may have a slightly undulated form instead of being rectilinear.
