Abstract

914,803. Mounting electric motors. OATLEY TECHANICAL DEVELOPMENTS Ltd. July 20, 1959 [April 19, 1958], No. 12491/58. Class 35. An electric motor or the torque-outlet connected to the motor by a flexible shaft which may be used for driving a variety of kitchen appliances or other tools is mounted in a box 5 which slides on horizontal runners 7 and vertical runners 15 on either side so that it may be stored beneath the top 6 of a work-table or withdrawn and raised so that the power take-off point (not shown) which is in the top surface 10 of the box, is above the level of the table. The weight of the unit is supported by ratchets (not shown) released for raising and lowering by triggers 18 on either side. Alternatively the vertical motion may be provided by parallel motion links or by a second horizontal slideway at a higher level. The motor is controlled by a switch 28. An interlock prevents the motor being operated in the stored position.
