Abstract

837,852. Mechanical garages; garage lifts. KUNZE, W. July 19, 1957 [July 20, 1956], No. 22864/57. Classes 78 (3) and 78 (4). An electric hoist for use in a mechanical garage to raise the vehicle so that a further vehicle may be run beneath it has a half-portal standard 4, 5 separate from the standards for the other hoists in the garage and detachably connected with its foundation. In the constsuction illustrated each vehicle is stored in a cage shown in Figs. 1 and 3 and guided by rollers 20 on rails 22 carried by the standard 4. The cage has eyes 16 (Fig. 1) for engaging load blocks 9 raised by a hoist 6. Each standard 4 is removably carried in a pedestal 3 secured by screws and angle-irons in a reinforced concrete base. The switches controlling the hoist are preferably mounted in the standard 4.
