Abstract

914,494. Folding table legs. SCHLUP, G. E. Nov. 6, 1959, No. 37684/59. Class 52 (3). A folding table has legs 8 connected by transverse member 9 and top 4 with sides 4a to which are fixed brackets 5 with locking pin 7 and pivot pin 6 about which the legs with pivot sleeve 10 rotate. A tubular locking member 12 has a cut-away portion 13 corresponding to portion 14 in member 9 at the extremities of the tube through which locking pin 7 passes when the legs are opened and is retained by rotating member 12 by handle 11. In another embodiment, the locking device is held in a tubular sleeve beneath the transverse member 9 which is replaced by an angle iron. In a third embodiment, Fig. 6, a T-shaped leg is held in a U-shaped clip 17 and the locking device is contained in the vertical leg 16.
