913,955. Cutting-up forage crops. DEERE LANZ A.G., JOHN. Sept. 8, 1959 [Sept. 18. 1958], No. 30630/59. Class 5(1). [Also in Group XXX]. A harvester for standing crops is adapted to pick up pre-cut crops by mounting a pickup device 19 on and between arms 10 pivotally mounted on the shaft 5 of the beater knives 9, and by setting the shaft 5 at a height greater than that for cutting. The pickup device 19 is a roller 11 having teeth 19 and is driven from shaft 5, and feeds the crop to the beater knives which project it through the delivery channel 2. Device 19 carries wheels 12 which engage the ground.
