Abstract

913,757. Semi-conductor delay circuits. ROTAX Ltd. July 10, 1961 [Aug. 15, 1960], No. 28131/60. Class 40 (6). A time-delay circuit comprises a controlled rectifier controlling the current to a load, a four-layer diode or uni-junction transistor controlling the current to the controlled rectifier, and a capacitor controlling the current .to the diode. In a first embodiment, Fig. 1, a capacitor 4 and a resistor 3 are connected in series across D.C. supply terminals 1, 2 with their junction connected to the emitter of a uni-junction transistor 5. One of the bases of the transistor is connected to the trigger electrode of a controlled rectifier 8, the anode cathode path of which is connected across the supply terminals in series with a coil 9 of a relay which may control a contact between the supply and a load. Alternatively, the capacitor 4 and primary base may be connected to the terminal 2 through the relay coil, or the relay may be omitted and the load connected directly in place of coil 9. On switching on capacitor 4 charges until transistor 5 conducts to trigger rectifier 8. In a second embodiment, Fig. 2, the uni-junction transistor is replaced by a four-layer diode 10.
